If you live or work in Dubai Marina, a Being Fit coach can train you one to one in your apartment, in your building or community gym, outdoors when the weather allows, or online. Every programme starts with an assessment and includes a customised nutrition plan, and packages start at AED 3,600 a month for 12 sessions. Female coaches are available for clients who prefer women-only training.
I’m Gawhar Ahmad, pharmacist and head coach at Being Fit. Dubai Marina is one of the areas we cover, and it is a great place to train: high-rise living, well-equipped building gyms and one of the city’s best waterfront walks. Here is how personal training works there in practice.
Key takeaways
- Sessions can take place in your apartment, your building or community gym, outdoors at cooler times of day, or online.
- Many towers allow outside trainers in their gyms. Rules and fees differ, and we help with the permission process.
- The Dubai Marina promenade is about 7 km long, which makes it ideal for walks and runs between sessions in the cooler months.
- Outdoor sessions are best early in the morning or after sunset. In the hot months, train indoors.
- Packages run from AED 3,600 to AED 5,800 a month, plus a VIP tier at AED 40,000, and all include a nutrition plan.
How does personal training in Dubai Marina work?
The format is the same wherever you are in Dubai: your coach comes to you. In the Marina, that usually means one of four settings:
- Your apartment. A living room with a mat-sized clear space is enough for effective strength and conditioning work. Our guide to personal training at home explains what you need.
- Your building or community gym. Most Marina towers have a gym, and these are often quiet early in the morning and late in the evening.
- Outdoors. When the weather allows, waterfront walkways and open spaces make good places for conditioning, walking and mobility work.
- Online. Live video sessions keep you on track when you travel or when your schedule changes at short notice.
Whatever the setting, the first session is an assessment of your goals, health, posture, movement and body composition. From there we build a plan that progresses week by week, as described on our process page.
Can my coach train me in my Marina building’s gym?
Usually, yes. We are allowed to train in most Dubai communities and private gyms, but rules vary from tower to tower. Some buildings simply need the trainer’s name in advance, others ask for an approval form, and some charge a visitor or registration fee for outside trainers.
The quickest way to find out is to ask your building management or concierge what they require. If your building needs approval, we help you with the permission process, so you are not left chasing paperwork.
Where can you train outdoors in Dubai Marina?
According to Visit Dubai, Dubai Marina Walk is a seven-kilometre promenade along the waterway. Emaar Community Management describes nearly eight kilometres of landscaped walkways around the water, used for walking, jogging and cycling. That makes the Marina one of the easiest places in Dubai to add daily movement without driving anywhere.
For coached sessions, outdoor work is best kept for the cooler months and the cooler ends of the day. The NHS advises staying out of the sun between 11am and 3pm in hot weather, and Dubai’s summer is far hotter than anything that advice was written for. In practice, we move strength sessions indoors from late spring to early autumn and keep the waterfront for early-morning or evening walks and light conditioning. Our guide to training in Dubai’s heat covers timing, hydration and warning signs.
Who does Marina personal training suit?
- Busy professionals who commute to DIFC, Business Bay or Downtown and want their training done before or after work, without another drive.
- People living in apartments who want a structured plan that works with limited space and a building gym.
- Women who prefer a female coach, at home or in a quieter building gym. Read what to look for in a female personal trainer.
- Couples and families who want to train together. We offer couples, friends and family packages at discounted prices.
- Beginners and experienced trainees alike. Programmes are tailored from beginner to advanced level.
What does a typical training week look like?
Here is an example of a balanced week for a Marina client with a general fat-loss and strength goal. Your own plan will depend on your assessment, schedule and goals.
| Day | Session | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday | Coached full-body strength | Building gym |
| Monday | Brisk walk, 30–45 minutes | Promenade, early morning or after sunset |
| Tuesday | Coached strength and conditioning | Apartment or building gym |
| Wednesday | Mobility or yoga | Home or online |
| Thursday | Coached full-body strength | Building gym |
| Friday and Saturday | Active rest: walking, swimming or a family activity | Your choice |
This lines up with the World Health Organization recommendation of 150–300 minutes of moderate activity a week plus muscle strengthening on at least two days. Three coached sessions cover the strength side; the walking does a lot of the rest.
Which coach will I train with?
We match you to a coach based on your goal, schedule and preferences. Our team includes specialists in strength training, weight loss, functional training, yoga, Pilates, rehab-aware training, and boxing and kickboxing, with both male and female coaches. You can meet the coaches and tell us if you have a preference.
If you are interested in a specific discipline, see our pages on personal training, kickboxing and boxing, Pilates and yoga.
