If you live in the Burj Khalifa or nearby, you have well-equipped facilities on your doorstep: the residence gym in the tower and The Burj Club next to it. What makes the difference is how you use them. A coach who knows the building’s rules, plans each session around the equipment and schedules at quiet times turns a good gym into consistent progress.
I’m Gawhar Ahmad, licensed pharmacist and head coach at Being Fit. Our coaches train clients in the Burj Khalifa residence gym, at The Burj Club and in every Downtown Dubai building, and this is a regular part of our VIP personal training in Dubai. Here is how it works.
Key takeaways
- We train clients in the Burj Khalifa residence gym and at The Burj Club.
- Building rules on visiting trainers vary, so we help arrange permission.
- Sessions can also take place in your apartment.
- Quiet times make a residence gym feel private.
- Every package includes a customised nutrition plan.
Can a personal trainer train you in your residence gym?
Usually, yes, with the building’s permission. Each building sets its own rules for visiting trainers, and some need an approval, a booking or paperwork first. We are allowed to train in most Dubai communities and private gyms (Damac, Emaar, Al Wasl, Wasl Gate and more). If your building requires approval, we help you with the permission process. Our guide to training in your building gym explains the usual steps.
What does a session look like?
A typical 60-minute session starts with a warm-up and mobility work, moves into the main strength block using the gym’s racks, cables and dumbbells, adds conditioning on the cardio equipment or with boxing pads, and finishes with stretching. Your coach plans the session around what the gym has, so there is no waiting around.
| Part | What | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Warm-up | Mobility and activation | 10 min |
| Strength | Main lifts for your goal | 25–30 min |
| Conditioning | Intervals, pads or circuits | 10–15 min |
| Cool-down | Stretching and breathing | 5–10 min |
When is the gym quietest?
That depends on the building and the season, and your coach will help you find the quiet periods. Early mornings tend to be calmer in most residence gyms. If privacy matters most, sessions can take place in your apartment instead.
Can you train in your apartment instead?
Yes. Your coach brings bands, dumbbells, a mat and boxing pads, and an apartment living space is enough for a full session. Many residents mix both: heavier strength work in the gym and mobility, Pilates or yoga at home. Our guide to personal training at home covers the setup.
What else is nearby in Downtown?
Our base is close by at Train SF in The Dubai Mall, which is useful when you want a different setup. Massage, yoga, Pilates, rehab and mobility can be booked at home. See our Downtown Dubai page and our guide to training in Downtown Dubai and Business Bay.
What does VIP training add?
Our VIP package includes a dedicated personal trainer, complete nutrition control, 24/7 WhatsApp access and a travel-with-you option. It suits residents who want training to run around a busy life without having to organise it. Discretion is part of the service: sessions are one to one, and your details stay private.
Does training start with an assessment?
Yes. Your free trial and assessment covers goals, health history, posture, movement and body composition, with blood tests available. Our head coach is a licensed pharmacist, so medicines and conditions are considered before training starts.
How much should you train?
The World Health Organization guidelines suggest 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity a week and muscle-strengthening on two or more days. Downtown also makes it easy to add walking, using indoor routes on hot days.
What if you are visiting rather than living here?
Visitors staying in Downtown can book sessions in their hotel room or hotel gym, where the hotel allows it, including single sessions; WhatsApp us for single-session pricing. See our hotel personal trainer page and hotel guest workout guide.
How do you stay consistent in a busy Downtown week?
- Book fixed sessions at the same times each week, so training becomes routine.
- Keep a short backup workout for days when the diary falls apart.
- Use indoor walking routes on hot days to keep daily steps up.
- Message your coach early when plans change, so sessions move rather than disappear.
Which package suits Burj Khalifa residents?
