If you are recognised in public, a busy gym floor is rarely the place to train well. Most people in that position train at home, in a residence gym at quiet times or in a hotel suite, with one coach who knows their schedule and keeps their details private. The essentials are simple: a private location, a flexible diary, one point of contact and a coach who is discreet by habit, not by promise.
I’m Gawhar Ahmad, licensed pharmacist and head coach at Being Fit. Privacy is one of the main reasons clients choose our VIP personal trainer service in Dubai, and many of them live in villa communities such as Palm Jumeirah. Here is how private training is usually organised, and what to look for.
Key takeaways
- Train where you control who is around: home, a residence gym at quiet times, or your hotel.
- One coach and one WhatsApp contact keep things simple and private.
- Your schedule will change, so the plan needs to move with it.
- Travel should not break the programme: plan online or travelling sessions.
- Discretion is a habit: one-to-one sessions and details kept private.
Where can you train privately in Dubai?
- At home. A villa home gym, a spare room or a garden. On Palm Jumeirah, many clients train in their villa or apartment, or on a terrace in the cooler months.
- In your residence gym. Many buildings have quiet periods early in the morning. We train clients in all Downtown Dubai buildings, including The Burj Club and the Burj Khalifa residence gym.
- At your hotel. In your room or the hotel gym, where the hotel allows it.
- Online. Live sessions with the same coach when you are away.
Our Palm Jumeirah home personal training page and Palm Jumeirah training guide cover the local options.
What should discretion look like in practice?
It should be ordinary and consistent rather than dramatic. Whoever you train with, look for one-to-one sessions, a coach who does not talk about other clients, and scheduling that runs through as few people as possible, so fewer people need to know where you will be and when. At Being Fit, every session is one to one, your details stay private, and your week is arranged through one WhatsApp contact.
If you have specific requirements around access, staff or security, tell us when you book and we will plan around them.
How do you train around an unpredictable schedule?
Plan the week, then expect it to change. A good private coach keeps a few fixed anchors, such as two strength sessions, and moves everything else around your commitments. Changes go through one WhatsApp chat. On our VIP package, you have a dedicated personal trainer, complete nutrition control, 24/7 WhatsApp access and a travel-with-you option, so the plan can be adjusted at short notice.
What happens when you travel?
The programme continues. Your coach can give you short hotel-room workouts, run live online sessions in your time zone, or, on VIP, travel with you. Visitors staying in Dubai can also book sessions at their hotel; see our hotel personal trainer page.
Is a female coach available?
Yes. Highly qualified female coaches are available for clients who prefer women-only training, at home, in a residence gym or online. Our female personal trainer page for Palm Jumeirah has the details.
Does private training still start with an assessment?
Yes, and it matters more, because the plan has to fit a demanding life. Your free trial and assessment covers goals, health history, posture, movement and body composition, with blood tests available. Our head coach is a licensed pharmacist, so medicines and conditions are considered before training starts. Every package also includes a customised nutrition plan from a team that includes a qualified nutritionist.
How much training do you need to stay in shape?
Less than you might think, if it is consistent. The World Health Organization guidelines recommend 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity a week plus muscle-strengthening on two or more days. Three coached sessions and some daily walking cover most of that, even in a busy month.
What should you ask a coach before you start?
- Where will sessions take place, and who will know about them?
- How do I change a session at short notice?
- What happens to my programme when I travel?
- Will the same coach train me every time?
- Are your coaches registered? (Every Being Fit coach is REPs UAE registered.)
