Personal training on Palm Jumeirah: villa, apartment and Boardwalk options

Gold line drawing of the palm-shaped island seen from above, ringed by its crescent, on black water

On Palm Jumeirah, a Being Fit coach can train you one to one in your villa or apartment, in your building or private gym, outdoors along the Boardwalk in the cooler months, or online when you are away. Every programme starts with an assessment and includes a customised nutrition plan. Packages start at AED 3,600 a month, and our VIP service covers training at your villa, penthouse or private gym.

I’m Gawhar Ahmad, pharmacist and head coach at Being Fit. Palm Jumeirah is one of the areas we cover, and it suits private training particularly well: many homes have their own gym space or terrace, residences often have well-equipped gyms, and the island has one of Dubai’s longest seaside promenades. Here is how to make the most of it.

Key takeaways

  • Coaches come to your villa, apartment, building gym or private gym on the Palm, or train you online.
  • The Boardwalk runs about 11 km along the crescent, a good place for walks, jogs and light conditioning in the cooler months.
  • Outdoor sessions are best early in the morning or after sunset; train indoors in the hot months.
  • Female coaches are available for women-only training at home.
  • Packages run from AED 3,600 to AED 5,800 a month, with VIP at AED 40,000 for a dedicated trainer at your villa, penthouse or private gym.

How does personal training work on Palm Jumeirah?

Your coach comes to you. On the Palm, sessions usually take place in one of these settings:

  • Your villa. A garage gym, spare room or shaded terrace gives plenty of space for strength, conditioning and even boxing pad work.
  • Your apartment. A clear area the size of a mat plus arm’s reach is enough for effective sessions. Our guide to personal training at home explains what you need.
  • Your building or private gym. Many residences on the Palm have gyms. We are allowed to train in most Dubai communities and private gyms, and if your building requires approval, we help with the permission process.
  • Outdoors. Beach and Boardwalk sessions when the weather allows.
  • Online. Live video sessions keep the programme going when you travel, which many Palm residents do often. Read whether online personal training works for an honest view.

Whichever setting you choose, the first session is an assessment of your goals, health, posture, movement and body composition. Your plan then evolves week by week, as described on our process page.

Can I train on the Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk?

Yes, at the right time of day and year. When it opened in 2016, Gulf News reported that the Boardwalk runs 11 km along the crescent, is six metres wide and is built for pedestrians rather than cyclists. The National described it stretching from the western to the eastern end of the crescent, with views of the Gulf, the city and the Marina.

That makes it a great place for brisk walks, easy runs and light outdoor conditioning between coached sessions. For harder coached sessions, I prefer the cooler months and the first or last hours of daylight. From late spring to early autumn, strength work moves indoors and the Boardwalk is for early-morning or evening walks. Our guide to training in Dubai’s heat explains how to plan around the temperature.

Who is private training on the Palm best for?

  • Residents who value privacy and prefer to train at home rather than in a public gym.
  • Busy professionals and business owners who want sessions at fixed times without a drive. See weight loss for busy professionals.
  • Women who prefer a female coach. We have highly qualified female coaches for women-only training; see what to look for in a female personal trainer.
  • Families and couples, who can share a package at a discounted price.
  • Anyone wanting variety: strength training, kickboxing and boxing, yoga or Pilates can all be done at home with the right coach.

What does VIP training on the Palm include?

For clients who want a fully dedicated service, our VIP package (AED 40,000 a month) includes five to six elite sessions a week with a dedicated personal trainer, training at your villa, penthouse, private gym or office, 24/7 WhatsApp and priority phone access, complete nutrition control with meal plans and chef-ready menus, sleep and stress coaching, and a travel-with-you option for business trips. It is a discreet, confidential service.

Most people do not need VIP to get excellent results. Premium (AED 5,800 a month, up to 20 sessions) already includes a trainer who comes to your home or building gym, priority scheduling and weekly nutrition updates.
